DW Dixon Saddles is a small, family-owned saddle shop that focuses on quality handmade cowboy gear, saddles and tack. The shop is located on the Dixon Ranch between Vinita and Nowata, Oklahoma, on the edge of the Tallgrass Prairie. Along with the Saddle Shop, David and Annette Dixon run a commercial cow-calf operation, focusing on raising replacement heifers. David is the sole saddlemaker. Annette makes the tack and belts.
The Dixon's son, Lance, graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College in Miami, Oklahoma, with a degree in Ranch and Equine Management. Lance now lives on the Dixon Ranch running his own business, Lance Dixon Buckles & Spurs. Lance also day works for some of the area ranches when extra help is needed. Lance has competed twice in the Extreme Mustang Makeover. His mustang, Waylon, from the 2017 Kentucky Competition is a reliable ranch horse at the Dixon Ranch.
Their daughter, Katherine (Kat) graduated from Oklahoma State University majoring in Agribusiness. Kat is adding to the family business by making chaps. You can find her goods at Dixon Chaps. Horses have been a prominent part of Kat's youth. She is the Past President of the Missouri Quarter Horse Youth Association. Kat and her horse, Genuine Peps Rooster, won the AQHA Level I Championships for Youth Ranch Riding and Rookie Youth Ranch Riding in 2018 at the VRH World Show. In 2019 at the VRH World Show, they placed 3rd in Youth Ranch Reining and 6th in Youth Ranch Riding. The pair also won the NRSHA Championships for Youth Ranch Reining and Youth Ranch Riding.

In May of 2014, David and Annette Dixon of DW Dixon Saddles made the trip to Torrington, Wyoming. They purchased all the inventory - including saddle trees, leather and saddle parts - of Ralph Shimon Co. Ralph spent several days teaching David his secrets to the success of his saddle making.
DW Dixon Saddles offers saddles built on Ralph Shimon's saddle trees. He is using these specially designed saddle trees and turning them into beautiful yet functional saddles. The saddles are light weight. The stirrups are free swinging.
